I was inspired to pursue a career in the insurance industry out of sheer need—the need to financially support my family. However, I have remained in the field for the last 12 years because I have found fulfillment in assisting individuals with something that is considered a basic necessity but is often intangible and difficult to value. I have witnessed firsthand how insurance can change lives when it matters most.
Throughout my career, I have sold nearly all types of insurance and held various roles within the industry. I take pride in my knowledge, whether it’s health insurance, life insurance, auto insurance, or homeowners insurance. In every position, I’ve relied on a few key skills that have contributed to my success. First and foremost is actively listening. I believe this is a critical trait; people don’t share their stories without a reason. Emphasizing active listening is vital in an industry where understanding individual needs can make a significant difference. I prioritize building rapport, which is essential in fostering long-term relationships.
Outside of work, I can often be found at church or engaging in volunteer activities. I have a close-knit family, and we love spending time together, whether it’s during game nights or enjoying outdoor activities.
